Part time SUP instructor

 

 

SUP Bristol is looking for exceptional SUP instructors for the 2018 season to help us run our range of courses and trips.

Your role will focus on leading our award-winning SUP experiences. You will have the knowledge, skills and experience to facilitate not just safe sessions, but superb experiences for our clients.

You’ll work with a range of customers with varying skill levels and expectations and you’ll be able to adapt your style to suit diverse groups. You’ll be knowledgable and experienced in SUP, and passionate about developing the sport.

You’ll be happy working independently as well as within a small team. Work will include evenings and weekends and you’ll have two days off a week. Following successful induction you may be asked to take on occasional duty manager responsibilities, for which additional pay will be given.

Location: SUP Bristol, Baltic Wharf, Bristol, BS1 6XG

 

Specific tasks:

To deliver high quality SUP sessions.

To demonstrate a high level of customer care

To demonstrate excellent knowledge of paddleboarding; and strong personal paddling ability and experience

To manage the use of equipment to ensure the centre is operating efficiently

To record session data and upload session photographs

To ensure activity areas are maintained safely and cleanly

To assist with the maintenance of equipment as required

 

Qualifications:

Essential:

WSA Foundation SUP Instructor, UKCC Level One with SUP Module, ASI Level Two or BSUPA Level One

Current 16-hour outdoor first aid certificate

Desirable:

BC 3/4 star leader sea

BC level 2 coach

Full driving licence

Contract:

Seasonal contract with flexible start / end dates.

Either start May to end of September, or start of June to end of August.

35 hours, 5 days a week including evenings and weekends (part time also available)

Operations assistant (20 hours/week) - Now closed

 

 

SUP Bristol is looking for an operations assistant. Working with the business owners, you’ll be responsible for the day to day logistics of the centre; communicating with customers, managing the booking system and liaising with instructors.

Although you don’t need to be a paddler, the successful applicant will display excellent knowledge and enthusiasm for the outdoors and adventure. We’re a small and quickly growing business so you’ll need the ability to learn quickly. You’ll work hard on your own initiative, have excellent attention to detail and strong interpersonal skills. In return we can offer flexible working and the chance to help shape a rapidly growing adventure business.

Location: Home or co-working space

Specific tasks:

Communicating with customers

Managing the booking and invoicing system

Managing booking of instructors, equipment and other resources

Creating staff rotas and liaising with instructors

Skills/experience:

Essential

Excellent customer service

Experience of communicating with customers on phone, email and in person

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

Excellent organisational skills

Good IT skills including experience with common software such as Google Drive

Excellent attention to detail

Ability to manage own workload and work unsupervised

A passion for the outdoors and interest in learning to paddle

Desirable

Experience of using WordPress

Experience with Adobe Creative Suite for photo/video editing

Ability to create high quality written content
